‘AMS Has Done A first Class Job’

Customer

DB Shoes Ltd is a company bucking the trend in UK manufacturing. From its purpose built manufacturing plant and warehouse it designs and produces ladies and men’s comfort footwear. DB Shoes Ltd is a world leader in footwear for the naturally wide foot.

Started in 1920 by identical twins and nearly 100 years later being run successfully by the third generation of the family, who are also identical twins, the Company sells to consumers on line via its mail order subsidiary Wider Fit Shoes Ltd ( www.widerfitshoes.co.uk)

Challenge

As DB Shoes send out their own mail order catalogues, leaflets and letters to over 40,000 contacts per mailshot and it was evidential that they required a machine that could handle their growing amount of large mailings to save time and costs. With no experience of using mailing machines, DB Shoes contacted AMS to help with their requirements.

Solution

After looking at a number of options DB Shoes decided on the Grutzmacher Cayman production envelope inserting system. Regular consultation meetings were held between AMS and DB Shoes and even a visit to the manufacturers factory in Germany was arranged to ensure the Cayman envelope inserting systems would be configured to suit DB Shoes envelope inserting needs.

David Denton, Managing Director of DB Shoes commented ‘As our mailing catalogues are likely to keep increasing in thickness and quantity, with over 80,000 mailings forecasted going out per campaign, we were looking for a solution that would be able to cope with our growing requirements.

AMS has done a first class job. From the initial advice to the installation and after-care service, I would use AMS again for other mailing solutions. The Grutzmacher Cayman is reliable and has performed as expected. During the installation process, tweaks were ironed out and AMS have provided a bespoke service to suit our needs.’
